'RF Drives Soldiers To Slaughter': Zaluzhny Reports About Tricks Of AFU

The scenario worked out.

Valeriy Zaluzhny, commander-in-chief of the AFU, said that in the first days of the full-scale invasion by Russian troops, Ukraine's defenders lured the enemy deep inside the country. This way they had an opportunity to destroy the occupiers and their logistics more effectively, and this scenario worked.

According to Zaluzhny, the AFU did everything possible not to allow Kyiv to fall, and in other directions tried to inflict heavy losses on the aggressor, even if in some places this would have required the loss of territory. The general told this in an interview with the Time magazine.

The aim of the AFU was to initially allow the Russian army to advance and then destroy its convoys of equipment and manpower at the front, as well as supply lines in the rear. Zaluzhny noted that as early as on the sixth day of the invasion, it became clear that such tactics were working.

The AFU commander-in-chief also spoke about Russia's blunders. The general noted that the Russian military command simply "drove its soldiers to the slaughter."

"They chose the scenario that suited me best," Zaluzhny said.

Zaluzhny's interview with the Time magazine

Time dedicated the cover and article to the commander-in-chief of Ukraine's Armed Forces. The issue for 10-17 October 2022 will be titled "General Valeriy Zaluzhny and the Ukrainian Way of War". The article, which is already available on the publication's website, is titled "Inside the Ukrainian Counterstrike that Changed the Course of the War".

In this interview, Zaluzhny described how at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, he told the head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, that he had no plans to evacuate, as the war had started for him back in 2014. He said General Milley was "kind of stunned" when he saw Ukraine's resistance.

The AFU commander-in-chief also believes that Ukraine's victory in the war against Russia will not end the fighting between the states.

"Knowing what I know firsthand about the Russians, our victory will not be the end. Our victory will be an opportunity to catch our breath and prepare for the next war," Zaluzhny said.
