They were found guilty of using banned substances.

Belarusian athletes Pavel Kryvitski, Nadzeia Astapchuk and Alena Kievich were officially found guilty of using banned substances based on an analysis of the LIMS database of the Moscow laboratory.

According to the release of the Athletics Integrity Unit (World Athletics Anti-Doping independent organization):

Nadzeia Astapchuk (Shot Put): use of a prohibited substance/method (Article 2.2) LIMS DQ evidence review results from March 22, 2012, to April 25, 2012.

It should be noted that the results of Nadzeia Astapchuk from August 13, 2005 to August 12, 2007 and from August 26, 2007 to August 15, 2012 have already been cancelled. She was stripped of the Olympic gold medal she won in London 2012 and has been serving a 4-year disqualification since August 2012. And Pavel Kryvitski was serving a 4-year disqualification.

LIMS is a database of the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory. The former head of the laboratory, Grigory Rodchenkov, handed over a copy of this database to the WADA. The WADA stated after examination that the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory substituted the results of athletes and hid positive doping tests. This very scandal led to the fact that the Russian team was deprived of the right to compete under the flag of their country at two Olympics.
