ISW: New Explosions In Crimea And Kherson Region Drive Russia To Panic

The occupiers do not believe their rear areas are secure.

Recent explosions that thundered in the Crimea and Kherson region are likely reducing Russian confidence in the security of Russian rear areas.

This is stated in the report of the American (Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The analysts claim that the reports about the strikes on the Russian facilities in the Crimea and Stary Oskol air base were likely “overblown”. However, satellite imagery shows the occupiers preparing for new strikes — the Russian forces are transporting ammunition and military equipment to a forest close to the field.

The experts saw no damage at either the Stary Oskol Air Base or Belbek Air Base

in the footage.

In a commentary to the Institute, an unnamed representative of the occupiers in the Zaporizhzhia region confirmed that the Russian air defense shot down not a missile, but a UAV over the Crimean bridge.

Videos that were circulating on Russian social media chats of alleged strikes on Belbek are modified videos, indicating “great panic” among Russians.

There is growing concern among the Russian authorities and the population itself about security in the Crimea, as evidenced, for example, by the establishment of checkpoints by the enemy in Sevastopol to identify saboteurs.

Some Russian bloggers decided that in this way Ukraine is “probing” the air defense and missile defense systems of the peninsula.
