New data from the Ukrainian Air Force command and expert calculations have been published.
More than nine Russian aircraft have been destroyed following a strike on an airbase near the village of Novofedorivka in Crimea, the Ukrainian Armed Forces Air Command has reported.
"Satellite images of the Ukrainian military airfield Saki in Crimea. Before and after the 'downgraded situation'. As you can see, there are not nine but many more demilitarized Russian planes," the command said in a Telegram post.
According to Oryx, at least four Su-30SM aircraft and six Su-24M/MR attack/tactical reconnaissance aircraft (five destroyed, one damaged) were eliminated at the Saki airfield.

Finally we have imagery of Saki Airbase. Serious losses for Russian aviation. At least 3 Su-30s and 6 Su-24s have been destroyed. Imagery isn't good enough to confirm, but possibly 2 additional Su-24s and 3 additional Su-30s destroyed.

Bellingcat founder and creative director Eliot Higgins said he could not remember when Russia had lost so many aircraft in one day.
"They must be deeply concerned about Ukraine's ability to launch such strikes somewhere, especially on the Kerch Strait bridge," the journalist wrote.
I can't think of a time Russia has lost this many air assets in one day in recent memory, and they have to be deeply concerned about Ukraine's ability to do similar strikes elsewhere, especially the Kerch Strait Bridge.

On August 9, several powerful explosions were reported at the Russian military airbase Saki near the village of Novofedorivka in occupied Crimea. Smoke could be seen both on land and at sea.
The Russian Defence Ministry said that "several aircraft munitions detonated".
The Ukrainian Defence Ministry commented on the explosions at the Saki airfield in occupied Crimea. The ministry said that it could not establish the cause of the fire on the territory of the airfield, but reminded about fire safety rules and the ban on smoking in unauthorized places.
