Lukashenka's Officials Moan Under Sanctions

Exports collapsed.

Western sanctions and the war in Ukraine can reduce Belarusian exports by almost a third in 2022. First Vice Prime Minister Mikalai Snapkou, according to the OL, gave this assessment to journalists.

The Vice-Prime Minister specified that the country might lose $14 billion in export income by the end of the year.

He explained that the sanctions affect wholesale commerce and cargo shipping through influence on industry. The construction is indirectly affected, it shows the lack of financial resources due to the closure of outside financing. The banking sector and all areas related to tourism were seriously affected.

Earlier it was reported that due to sanctions, almost all exports of Belarus to the countries of the European Union and North America were blocked. We are talking about losses of $16-18 billion.
