Banks Introduce More Changes For Belarusians

Among them there are also currency innovations.

Banks continue to introduce changes. For example, Bank Dabrabyt has reduced interest rates on fixed-term irrevocable deposits, and Technobank has introduced changes to transfers from cards of foreign banks.

The zerkalo.io journalists have made a selection of banking innovations in the recent days.

BTA Bank temporarily suspended sending and receiving money transfers of all services with which it worked. Among other things, these are MoneyGram, Unistream, and Golden Crown.

Since May 19, Alfa-Bank has made changes to transfers from cards of foreign banks to its own “plastic”. “Transfers in this direction are now available not only in dollars, euros, Russian rubles, but also in Belarusian rubles,” the bank reports. “For such transfers, the tariff is 1% of the transfer amount + 3 Belarusian rubles.”

This bank has also introduced an innovation for transfers from card to card by phone number through the Mastercard Transfers Hub service. “Now transfers are available not only to Visa\Mastercard cards of Belarusian banks, but also to Belkart-Maestro cards. For such transfers, a tariff of 1% of the transfer amount + 0.5 Belarusian rubles is determined,” the bank notes.

Bank Dabrabyt from May 23 reduced interest rates on fixed-term irrevocable deposits “Khutki” and “Shchodry”. Now, on deposits in dollars, the rate reaches 5% per annum, depending on the period of placement of money, and in euros — 7%.

The same bank reports that its Belcart cards have started working in Belarusian online stores.

From May 25, Belgazprombank will impose a new fee for trust management of money — 0.02%, but a minimum of 50 rubles.

Some banks are introducing changes to the collection of remuneration for the services they provide. And if some financial institutions explain to clients what is changing, others limit themselves to placing an updated collection with a commission. How the client should understand what exactly will change remains an open question. This was done, for example, by Paritetbank, which announced innovations in the collection of remunerations, but did not detail which ones specifically.

From May 23, Technobank changed the cost of the service for finding the recipient of erroneously transferred money at the request of an individual who is not a client of the bank. That is, we are talking about payments that were made to the wrong account. The cost of bank services is 10 rubles. The financial institution will provide “assistance in resolving the situation, withdrawal of payment with the consent of the recipient, clarification of details, paying as intended.”

The contact center of Technobank clarified that there was no tariff before. “There was a fee for searching for amounts only for bank customers. If a client of another bank is now applying, for example, he transferred the amount through the UPIS to the Technobank card and made a mistake in the contract number, then this tariff applies,” the contact center explained.

Statusbank also introduced changes to the list of remunerations from May 24. For example, issuing a certificate at the request of a client now costs 10 rubles, and if it needs to be received on the day of the application, then it costs 15 rubles.

From May 31, Sber Bank will prescribe in the general conditions of banking services for individuals that the bank will be able to renew servicing cards after the expiration date without replacing them.

Bank BelVEB from May 23 changed the tariffs for some services for companies and individual entrepreneurs. For example, it reduced the commission for accepting cash in the service packages Business Rise, Business Space, Business Start, and Business Course. “Unlimited payments for bank transfers in Belarusian rubles have been included as part of the Business Promo service package,” the bank clarifies.
