Belarusian Banks Continue To Impose Restrictions On Non-Resident Bank Cards

Here's the list of changes.

Lots of Belarusian banks have imposed restrictions on a number of financial transactions. These restrictions have affected, inter alia, transactions by payment cards issued by non-resident banks, reports belmarket.by.

Thus, on April 29, 2022, Paritetbank introduced a restriction on cash withdrawals from its ATMs to cards issued by non-resident banks in the amount of Br200 per day and Br1,000 per month per card.

Since April 29, Priorbank does not support the service of transfers of Belarusian rubles from payment cards issued by foreign banks to Visa and Mastercard cards issued by Priorbank. Foreign currency transfers are carried out as usual.

In turn, Belarusbank (also on April 29) introduced a temporary restriction on the issuance of cash transactions by the cards of the international payment systems Visa, Mastercard and UnionPay International, issued by non-resident banks at its ATMs and institutions in the amount of RUB200 per week per card.

Earlier, other Belarusian banks imposed restrictions and new conditions on cards issued by non-resident banks.

For example, from April 22, Alfa-Bank changed the fee for cash withdrawals from ATMs and cash registers of Alfa-Bank to the holders of bank payment cards issued by non-resident banks of Belarus - 20% of the withdrawn funds.

On April 26, Belahraprombank introduced a temporary restriction on cash withdrawals by bank cards of international payment systems Mastercard and UnionPay International, issued by non-resident banks, at ATMs of Belahraprombank in the amount of not more than RUB500 per card per week.

Earlier it was also reported that since April 19, 2022 BSB Bank was going to introduce a 20% commission fee on cash withdrawals from ATMs of the Bank by cards issued by non-resident banks (by Belarusian ruble and foreign currency).
