25 People Who Might Be Preparing Coup d'Etat Detained In Germany

A total of 25 people have been detained in Germany on suspicion of preparing a coup d'etat. TASS reports that a Russian woman is among the detainees.

German Prosecutor General's Office said that 22 of the detainees are suspected of creating a terrorist organization. The rest are suspected of supporting it.

The organisation set up by the suspects sought help from Russia. The detainees set up a "government" and a "military wing" and tried to recruit members of the German police and army.

The suspects were preparing an attack on the Bundestag and the detention of politicians. The conspirators hoped that part of the security forces would side with them, which would lead to a coup.
