Belavia Plane Lands In Minsk Due To Accident In Cockpit

The glass cracked in the cockpit.

November 9, an emergency situation occurred on board the Boeing 737-800 during a flight on the route Minsk - Sharjah, Belavia press service said.

The glass cover of the cockpit cracked during the flight.

"The pilot-in-command decided to divert the plane to the departure airport in Minsk. The plane landed at the National airport of Minsk at 07:24 a.m. There were 158 passengers on board, their health and safety was not at risk. Another aircraft was provided for flights B2 727/728 Minsk-Sharja-Minsk," the press service of the national airline reports.

The emergency situation made adjustments to some flights on November 9. The airline had to change the departure time of charter flights to Antalya and Sharm El Sheikh for later.

"Cockpit glass cracking is a situation that occurs randomly and cannot be predicted by the airline. The cracking of the cockpit windshield without damage to the power elements does not affect the flight safety," Belavia specified.
