Litesound Band Musicians Who Represented Belarus At Eurovision Now In Custody At Valadarski Street Detention Center

They are charged with "participation in protests."

The Viasna Human Rights Center reports that brothers-musicians Dzmitry and Uladzimir Karakin are in the pre-trial detention center #1 on Valadarski Street. According to preliminary information, they are charged with participation in the protests.

The Karakins are suspected under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (Active participation in group actions that grossly violate public order). They face up to three years in prison.

Pro-government Telegram channels wrote about the detention of Litesound musicians on November 13. According to them, the brothers “participated in illegal marches with road closures, called for and campaigned on social networks, and collaborated with extremist organizations.”
