CEO Of Swiss Pharmaceutical Company Alpen Pharma Representative Office Arrested In Hrodna

12 people are involved in the criminal case.

The prosecutor's office of Hrodna, following an inspection conducted jointly with the Economic Crime Department, opened a criminal case against the representative office of the Swiss pharmaceutical company Alpen Pharma in Belarus, the press service of the prosecutor's office reports.

“According to the materials of the case, the 31-year-old suspect has been systematically providing illegal cash rewards to medical workers of the region’s healthcare institutions for the promotion of homeopathic and medicinal products on behalf of the representative office of Alpen Pharma AG for 2 years,” the press release says.

Similarly, the transfer of illicit medical bounties has been allegedly set up throughout the country.

12 representatives of the company in the regions and Minsk were recognized as suspects in the case. With the approval of the Hrodna prosecutor, the head of the representative office was taken into custody, the leading specialist in regional development was released on bail.

The Swiss Alpen Pharma, as stated on its website, is engaged in the production, promotion and distribution of medicines, the organization and conduct of clinical trials of drugs, their registration, and operates throughout Europe and Asia. The company has been operating in Belarus since 2009.
