In 2022, Belarusian car owners will have to pay the remainder of the transport tax for 2021, taking into account the actual time of ownership of their vehicles. How to find out the amount payable?

“This year, the tax office will apply incentives to calculate the remainder of the transport tax, in addition, the date of purchase of the car will be taken into account. It will be necessary to pay the remainder of the transport tax until November 15, 2022 inclusive,” said Alena Khadzinskaya, head of the payers information department of the Minsk Ministry of Taxes and Dues inspectorate, reports the Minsk-Novosti state agency.

To find out how much to pay, car owners can either contact the district tax office, or look at the payer's personal account on the Ministry of Taxes and Dues website. There should be all the information related to a registered vehicle.

Earlier it was reported that a notification for car owners about the need to pay transport tax should come no later than September 1, 2022. The following amounts were called:

• for a car weighing up to 1.5 tons - 61 rubles;

• more than 1.5 tons, but not more than 1.75 tons - 81 rubles;

• more than 1.75 tons, but not more than 2 tons - 102 rubles;

• more than 2 tons, but not more than 2.25 tons - 122 rubles;

• more than 2.25 tons, but not more than 2.5 tons - 142 rubles;

• more than 2.5 tons, but not more than 3 tons - 162 rubles;

• more than 3 tons - 223 rubles;

• motorcycle - 41 rubles.

Until December 15, 2021, Belarusians had to pay BYN 29 of transport tax in advance. According to Minister of Taxes and Dues Siarhei Nalivayka, as of January 1, 98.5% of car owners paid it.
