Verkhovna Rada Deputy: Usurper Lukashenka Has Completely Lost His Mind
Oleksiy Honcharenko

Everything must be done for this regime to cease to exist.

Recently, the Belarusian dictator announced the closure of the borders with Ukraine. The website Charter97.org asked the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharenko to assess the actions of the Belarusian regime:

- These are absolutely unfriendly actions towards Ukraine. Just some crazy statements, he talks about some kind of "weapon." All this is complete nonsense. This is difficult to comment on, the usurper has completely gone mad.

- To what extent has Lukashenka become toxic for Ukraine lately? What danger does it pose to the region?

- It poses a significant danger to the region, as we saw from the situation with the hijacking of the plane. In addition, a separate danger for Ukraine is that he has completely gone into submission to Putin. This means that the northern border of Ukraine is also becoming a dangerous direction.

- How should Ukraine deal with the dictatorial regime on the northern border in order to minimize the threat posed by it to its national and state interests?

- Ukraine needs to strengthen its northern border. If we talk about the regime as a whole, then everything must be done so that this regime ceases to exist as soon as possible. The way to this is economic sanctions.

- Ukrainian cities refuse tenders for the purchase of products from Belarus. Initially, such a decision was made in Lviv, then Nikolaev suspended the purchase of 50 Belarusian trolleybuses. Why is it important today to freeze trade relations with the dictator?

- Because, in fact, the dictator uses the funds he receives for one thing - to give money to his siloviki who are killing their own people.

- Recently, the European Union introduced sectoral sanctions against the Belarusian regime, which seriously hit the budget of the authorities. What else do you think the European Union could do to show the seriousness of its intentions? Under what conditions can Ukraine join the EU economic sanctions against Lukashenka?

- Ukraine has joined all the sanctions that the EU introduced, up to the last package. Unfortunately, Ukraine has not yet joined the latest package of sanctions, which has the most significant effect. I believe that Ukraine should join it as soon as possible.

- Some experts say that it is worth looking for an alternative to the import of electricity and oil products from Belarus because Lukashenka can make any decision that will adversely affect Ukraine. Can Ukraine refuse to import these products?

- I believe that Ukraine should get ready for the complete cessation of trade with Belarus because Lukashenka allows himself more and more in relation to Ukraine every day and behaves more impudently. He should be punished for that. In general, trade between Belarus and Ukraine is beneficial primarily for Belarus, because it exports much more to our country than we do there.

- Recently, invitations for Lukashenka to come to Crimea have been heard more and more often in the information field of the Russian Federation. What do you think about the statement by Peskov and the leader of the occupation administration Aksenov that Russia is waiting for Lukashenka in Crimea? What are the consequences if Lukashenka goes to the peninsula?

- I believe that Ukraine should break off all relations with the regime and completely stop any kind of trade. The reaction should be as tough as possible.
