In early March, Ihar Bantser, a legend of the local underground, who has allegedly danced naked in front of a police car, is standing trial in Hrodna. For this very offense, Bantser has already been behind bars for more than four months, and may not get out for even longer. Relatives of the musician associate the situation with his civic engagement - he was arrested many times in the 2000s and 2010s and went out to protest in Hrodna after the presidential election, and even held a bold one-man picket near the local court, Trybuna reports.

On March 3, Bantser went on a dry hunger strike - refused to eat or drink. The man is on hunger strike for the eighth day already. His wife says she is very worried about her husband's health - he is a man of his word, "ready to go to the end".
