Raman Bandarenka's Sister Made an Important Statement at the Trial of Katsiaryna Barysevich and Artsiom Sarokin

Volha Kucharenka announced this even before she entered the hall and signed a non-disclosure agreement.

February 23 is the third day in the trial of Katsiaryna Barysevich and Artsiom Sarokin. Let us remind you that they are accused of "disclosing medical secrets," which consisted of the fact that Raman Bandarenka was sober at the time of admission to the hospital. The man's relatives gave permission to publish this information.

Nevertheless, the tut.by journalist and the emergency hospital doctor became accused under a criminal article. They have been in jail for four months already. The court decided to consider their case behind closed doors.

The court session on Tuesday is scheduled for 10:15. The case is being considered by the Maskouski District Court of Minsk in the building of the House of Justice on Semashka Street, tut.by writes.

Katsiaryna Barysevich and Artsiom Sarokin were brought into the hall at 10.04.

The judge is Sviatlana Bandarenka, the state prosecutor is Liudmila Ivanenka. Artsiom Sarokin is defended by lawyer Volha Batsiuk, Katsiaryna Barysevich - by Andrei Machalau and Mikhail Badnarchuk.

The third day of the session began with the questioning of witnesses.

- Witness Li, - called the assistant to the chairman of the Maskouski district court.

A doctor with this surname examined Raman Bandarenka when he entered the emergency room.

The sister of Raman Bandarenka, Volha Kucharenka, was also summoned to the trial as a witness. She emphasizes that all the time Raman was in the hospital, relatives publicly talked about his condition. Later, when information appeared that he was allegedly drunk, Raman's family agreed to publish the laboratory research data. In them, we recall, it was indicated that no ethanol was found in Raman's blood. Volha says that she personally coordinated this information with Katsiaryna Barysevich.

Volha announced what she was going to tell the court before she entered the courtroom and signed a non-disclosure agreement.

The detailed text of Volha Kucharenka's statement is quoted by Radio Svaboda.

- Until I sign a non-disclosure agreement, I would like to tell you what I am going to tell the court. As my aunt stated earlier, we did not make a secret of not disclosing secrets, let's say, about Roma's state of health, the reasons for his death, laboratory examinations, what is written in his death certificate, etc. We strongly approved the dissemination of this information so that my brother's name would not be denigrated and he would not appear to be someone he is not.

I would like to inform you that, on the day of Roma's death, when he was still in a coma, my aunt gave me permission to be a contact person with the press to report on the state of affairs and Roma's health. Even in the afternoon, journalists called her, and she realized that she would not pull this burden. When Roma died, we had a repeat conversation in the evening, and she confirmed her words. She said: I would be grateful to you, Olya, for you to keep in touch with the press and report on Roma, his examinations, about everything that happened to him, so that it would not be hidden in any way.

Of course, I really hope that the court will make a fair decision, especially after saying what I am about to say. Katsiaryna received permission from me officially to publish his laboratory research because we were just in the interval between the IC's statement that Roma was not sober when he was detained and dragged into the bus and the publication of her article. We just contacted, and she received my permission by phone to publish this information, - Volha said.
