Prognosis On Currencies: About Exchange Rates In First Week Of October

The situation at the currency market of the country.

Last week, there was no consistency in the exchange rates of foreign currencies - the dollar and the Russian ruble were getting more expensive, while the euro was going down. What changes should Belarusians expect this week on the domestic currency market and the rates at the exchange offices? Vadzim Yasub, Senior Analyst of Alpari Eurasia, speaks about with Myfin.by.

- If we talk about external factors of the last week, we should note a significant decline in the euro and the growth of the Russian ruble. In particular, the euro/dollar pair decreased over the week from 1.1740 to 1.1590, or 1.3%.

Both foreign currencies fell against the Russian ruble. If the dollar decreased slightly - from 72.9 to 72.8 Russian rubles, or 0.1%, the euro dropped from 85.6 to 84.4 Russian rubles, or 1.4%.

As a result, the dollar and the Russian ruble rose in value against the Belarusian ruble, while the euro expectedly fell. The dollar rose by 0.59% over the week, while the euro dropped by 0.67%, having thus made its lowest since the beginning of the year. The Russian ruble went up by 0.71%.

As a result of the dollar and the Russian ruble growth, the cost of a basket of currencies rose by 0.4% again. This is the second week in a row of the Belarusian ruble decline against the currency basket.

Most likely, during the week, the euro will continue to go down in price against other currencies on the world market.

Under this scenario, the dollar might go up to Br2.53 by the end of the week,

The euro may fall to Br2.89,

Russian ruble may rise to 3.48 Belarusian rubles per 100 Russian rubles.
