The officials have "explained" why they suspended the provision of planned medical care.

The Ministry of Health suspended the provision of routine medical care in order to protect healthy people from additional risks of infection. Head of the main department of health care organization of the Ministry of Health Aliaksei Shcherbinski has commented on the decision of the department.

He reminded that the suspension of routine medical care will concern the periodic health examination, screening activities, rehabilitation, physical therapy and manipulations during the stay in day care hospitals.

Shcherbinski emphasized that by relieving medics of the scheduled care, the Ministry of Health increases the number of contact teams to visit patients.

"The situation with coronavirus infection forces us to sort out priorities. The planned care is relevant, but more so in the inpatient departments (hospitals, etc. - ed.). For example, for patients who have been assigned to joint replacement or other major surgeries. There are no restrictions in this regard today. That is, we focus on outpatient care - for those patients who can wait for some time," noted Shcherbinski. "That is why we are suspending scheduled medical care in order to protect healthy people from additional risks of infection".

We remind you that on October 18 the Ministry of Health announced about suspension of providing planned medical care.
