A letter with signatures will be sent to IHFF, championship sponsors, and international sports organizations.

While thousands of Belarusians are writing appeals to the IIHF, sponsors and organizers of the championship with calls to cancel the event, not to support the state that is engaged in methodical violence against its citizens in the media space and at the level of the world sports community, Rene Fasel does not even consider canceling the championship, referring to “an attempt to reconcile the authorities and the opposition with his visit,” writes the White Coats Telegram channel.

Unfortunately, Mr. Fasel does not understand how far the Belarusian authorities have gone to strangle, suppress and silence the innocent people of the country.

Doctors of the Republic of Belarus wrote an open letter to the leaders of the IIHF and Rene Fasel personally, explaining why a totalitarian state practicing violence, covid dissidence at the highest levels, and arbitrariness against its people should not be considered as a venue for an international sports event of the world class.

“Is sport beyond politics?

Or is sport also beyond morality?” the doctors ask.

If you are a healthcare professional and are ready to join the open letter requirements, please leave your signature here.

A signed letter will be sent to the IHFF, also the championship sponsors, and international sports organizations.
