IT-Front Of Belarus Publishes Hard-Line Manifesto

Programmers are with the people.

A manifesto of the Belarusian IT front has appeared on the website belarusit.duckdns.org. See what the IT pros want, and what they will do to achieve their purpose.

“Who we are: We are a decentralized community of IT professionals. Together we are a force fighting for justice.

Our goals are: Removal from power of officials who do not want to hear the voice of the people and serve the interests of the Republic of Belarus.

Our ways of achieving: Penetration into closed government IT systems. Searching for materials affecting the interests of officials and the law-enforcement agencies, and their public disclosure.

Our motives: The thirst for freedom and justice. We, like millions of other Belarusians, do not want to stand aside from the current crisis. We are ready to fight on our “battlefield”, where we have endless possibilities.

Our principles: We do not seek revenge, but choose the same paths of struggle that are being used against us. We do not make concessions and compromises until our demands are 100% fulfilled. We listen and hear the will of the people and the honestly elected president - Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.

Where Our Strength is: Our strength lies in honesty, ingenuity, experience and support for our actions by sane members of society.

Traditionally, IT was the locomotive of Belarus, which developed away from the ideology of the state. It was this path that allowed Belarus to become an IT country. The moment has come when IT must show solidarity with the people, and apply all the knowledge and skills that have been accumulated over the years of doing business in Belarus, to all industries by transforming the entire state administration. IT is our battlefield and our rules. We, the IT community, are used to living in an open world, and providing value.

In recent days, we have been under constant stress and [are facing] the inability to do our job because of the unprecedented repression that has befallen the Belarusian IT community. We honestly do our job, pay taxes and want the government, being nominated by the people, to honestly fulfill its own.

The way to solve the problem, chosen by the ex-government of the Republic of Belarus, is leading the country to the bottom, destroying the image and the entire foundation that the IT was gathering bit by bit. We can no longer be idle, and if the ex-president has lost control over what is happening in the country, we are making an attempt to take control into our own hands!

IT-Belarus with the People!”
