IAAF Is Against the Appointment of an Athlete Who Supports Lukashenka as the Head of Belarusian Athletics
Ivan Tsikhan

The International Athletics Federation came out with harsh criticism.

The reason for the negative reaction was the fact that the new head of the Belarusian Athletics Federation (BFLA) Ivan Tsikhan was once deprived of the silver medal of the 2004 Olympics after his repeated test in 2012 showed traces of anabolic steroids, writes Pressball.

The gold medals of the 2005 World Championships and the 2006 European Championships were also taken away from Tsikhan.

"No person who has served a doping disqualification should not hold a leading position in the structures of world athletics," - quotes "Inside the Games" the words of the IAAF press officer.

We remind that Ivan Tikhon took over as head of the Belarusian Athletics Federation after the dismissal of Vadzim Dzeviatouski, who criticized Lukashenka. Lukashenka called Ivan Tsikhan "a patriot who did not betray in difficult times."
