It will be introduced at the next summit of the Council of Europe.

Vilnius, together with partners from Riga and Bucharest, has prepared a European assistance plan. It intends to offer it to Belarus when Lukashenka withdraws from power and will present its developments at the next EU summit. Gitanas Nausedaat stated that a joint press conference with the participation of French President Emmanuel Macron, who visits Lithuania, reports TASS.

" We need to think long-term. We - Lithuania, Latvia, Romania - offer a package of measures for the post-Lukashenka period to restore democratic Belarus. We will try to introduce it at the next summit of the Council of Europe," he said.

According to the President of Lithuania, the plan provides better access for Belarus to the EU market, financial resources, diversification of the energy sector, assistance to civil society and non-governmental organizations.

- I assume that Europe is able to do a lot [for Belarus]. I believe in the future of Belarus, a good, friendly and peaceful neighbourhood.

Earlier Poland announced the European "Marshall Plan" for Belarus worth €1 billion.
