The Passenger Of The Famous Taxi Driver Told About The Details Of The Escape

The guy really wants to find the driver who took him away "like in a movie".

Yesterday evening, a video filmed by an eyewitness on Bieruta Street in Minsk was leaked to the Internet: a taxi driver took a guy running away from the security forces. Users actively discuss the video, they say, the events on it developed as in a real movie. Today the same passenger of the fast taxi contacted the journalists and told a little about what had happened, tut.by writes.

The guy who ran away from the security forces is studying at one of the capital's universities; he is 18 years old. He does not hide: he was in the area of the Pushkinskaja metro station together with the protesters, thereby showing his attitude to what is happening in the country

- When people blocked the road, paddy wagons arrived. Everyone rushed to hide in the courtyards, me too. I ran to one open entrance and held the door: so that more people would run in and hide. I did not notice how the security forces jumped out from around the corner of the house and ran to us, - the guy recalls.

Many of those who were at the entrance were detained, but the student managed to wriggle out and ran to the side - the security forces followed him.

- These were seconds: I was running - there was a security officer behind and another one in front, on the lawn. I ran to the side, towards the road. I hear someone shouting to me: "Come on, jump up to me." This was the same taxi driver.

According to the taxi passenger, a window was opened in the car, through which the security forces tried to get to the driver, hit the car with a truncheon.

- There was no option to go to the oncoming lane, so the taxi driver drove along the side of the road. The video shows how the wheels of the car jumped onto the curb.

The taxi drove in the direction of Kalvaryjskaja, then looped around the city. There was no car chase. After a while, the driver dropped his passenger on one of the capital's streets.

- We saw that the bumper was damaged in the car, the side glass was broken. The driver did not take money from me either for the trip or for the damage, says the guy. - I am very grateful to the taxi driver because if not for him, then it is not known where I would be now.

Now, after all that has happened, the guy really wants to find the taxi driver to compensate him for the damage.
