Producer of Leviathan: The Situation in Belarus Unique and Completely Cinematic

The last decade in cinema is marked by stories about women and reconsideration of gender roles. Therefore, the history of presidential elections in Belarus is relevant to the time.
After the CEC refused to register three opposition candidates under different excuses, two of which ended up in prison, and the third one escaped from the country, their headquarters united around the wife of the arrested most popular blogger Siarhei Tsikhanouski - Sviatlana.
Since then, Tsikhanouskaya's rallies in cities and villages of Belarus have hit the record high. Together with Veranika Tsepkala (wife of the candidate, banned in the election) and Marya Kalesnikava (head of candidate Babaryka's headquarters) she has become a symbol of the opposition.
The reason why the CEC of Belarus registered Tsikhanouskaya makes this situation even more intriguing.
Lukashenka has repeatedly said that a woman cannot be president. "Our Constitution is such that even a man finds it hard to carry this burden", and "if this burden falls on a woman, she will fail, poor thing".
As journalist Dzmitry Navosha noted: "For Lukashenka, a woman is like a friend of a man". This primitive idea of half of humanity helped the opposition - Tsikhanouskaya was registered "to laugh". Now we observe how she has turned from a "technical candidate" into a formidable rival of the incumbent president.
But a small detail has finally won me over. Again, it's about the cinema. In Belarus, it is forbidden to publish any polls about possible elections and to bypass the ban the news portal TUT.BY came up with a poll "what movie would you prefer on Sunday evening": 3 Women by Robert Altman or A Single Man by Tom Ford?
