Mother Of Two: I Plan To Correct All Our Mistakes This Year

A 28-year-old Minsk woman wrote to the “Basta!” Telegram channel about the reasons why she believes that our whole country and its people deserve more, and shared her idea of how to fix everything:

“I am 28 years old, I am a mother of two children, I have a higher education and work ... as a cashier in a hypermarket,” the Minsk woman writes. “The bitter truth is that people like me are a dime a dozen.

We get higher education in the hope of a real career, but it turns out like in a joke: “Do you need a package?” or “Free desk!”. And yes, when I studied, I also went through McDonald’s, and now I understand that it’s more profitable and more promising to clean up a McDonald’s than to teach physics at school or to do some scientific work at one of the Belarusian research institutes.

It is a shame and a disgrace for our country - our passivity, which has brought us to such an economic phenomenon.

And I will say that I am going to correct all my mistakes this year, to fix the fact that all these years I was silent and agreed. I believe that not only I deserve more, but our whole country with all the people - too.

Belarusian bloggers and activists have proposed holding a Solidarity Flash Mob. The purpose of the action is to support the doctors who are fighting for our lives, and the heroes who are now behind bars.

Every day at 7 p.m., to show our solidarity, we open the windows of the apartments, go out onto the balconies, applaud, bang on pots, or turn on the music. Only 2 minutes - but every day and until victory!
