Minsk Woman: Let’s Change Something, Cockroach’s Place Is Under Stove

Why should our children flee the country ?!

A Minsk woman has told the “Basta!” Telegram channel why she supports the Solidarity Flashmob every day.

“Every evening I drive home along Partyzanski Ave at 7 p.m.,” she writes. “My little Jetta, with a large subwoofer, carries beautiful music to random neighbors in the car stream, and the people standing at bus stops.

I’m so fed up with all this. I work in tourism. We received zilch support from the state, like many in the country. We were the first to suffer, and will be the last to recover from the COVID-19.

My daughter at the age of 14 found a side job for 20 rubles a day, because she sees how difficult it has become to live. She thinks where to go to study in 2 years.

My younger son, who is 10 years old, helps in a car wash, they give him 1 ruble per car. He is studying English, dreaming to leave for Estonia or England.

But why should my children leave? Why is everything worse here? Why are all smart and talented (and my children are excellent pupils, athletes, they draw, sing) see for themselves one way - to go away? This is not normal.

Let's change something already. The cockroach’s place is under the stove.”
