This power is bankrupt.

The tenth, "jubilee," Prime Minister appeared in Belarus without the approval of the "house of representatives" on June 3. The Council of Ministers is headed now by Raman Halouchanka, previously chairman of the State Military-Industrial Committee.

The publication "Belarusians and the Market" asked experts to give their opinion on the old and new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Leanid Zlotnikau, PhD in Economics:

"It is not usual to resign yourself at this level. I think that Rumas "has been asked" to do so. They have appointed more loyal people, now this is the most important quality. It is obvious that the requirements to the government become different at such a critical moment for Lukashenka, and Halouchanka was appointed not because of his business qualities, not because he has deep and broad knowledge of macroeconomics and experience of working at a high level.

Lukashenka is afraid of new ideas, he still has different ideas about what the economy should be like, how it should be managed. He understands very well that if business develops, he will no longer be allowed to rule using the previous methods and will be re-elected. He is wary, politically he feels that the market economy means a different society. There are crucial political events happening and he is very cautious, trying to strengthen his environment.

The country is slipping into a pit, Lukashenka is trying to toughen the power methods of economic management, but without changing the model of not only economic but also social development, Belarus has no chance to develop.

We are losing our foreign markets, the technological level of production is inevitably falling, the standard of living is being maintained artificially, due to increasing debts. It will continue for a while longer, and then the living standards will start falling faster than in other countries. This could lead to riots".
