Minsk "Keramin" Worker: We Can't Live Like This Anymore

We risk our lives more than the miners do.

Worked off, died, got buried, they hired a new one? We can't live like this anymore. A worker of Minsk "Keramin" writes, the "Basta!" telegram channel reports.

- I work at "Keramin" in Kurasoushchyna, graduated from college, got on-the-job training here. The work is not a bowl of cherries, because we risk our lives every day even more than the miners do.

I have to work in conditions where I have to inhale clay dust for at least six hours a day, because of this something like silicosis may develop in my lungs, and at some point my lungs may get covered with stone crust, which cracks and the person dies. That's what happened with one of our former employees about a year ago. A former one, because he was fired literally a year before he died.

Sounds like a serious plant and the safety claims are okay, but there's a problem here. We all risk our lives.

There's no other job, and after that guy died, I really live in fear that my kid will lose his mom.

A lot of thoughts come to mind, but the main thing is that it's all because of lawlessness, because no one who thinks they're big bosses cares about our lives.

We need to change the system fundamentally because it's not designed for us to survive. Worked off, died, got buried, they hired a new one. We can't live like this anymore.
