The fuel load has also been rescheduled.

The launch of the Belarusian nuclear power plant has been postponed until 2021, and the loading of fuel has been postponed until August. This has been reported by Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Uladzimir Siamashka, Euroradio informs.

"We believe that in August we will start loading the fuel to the first reactor, - he said. - And then there will be a physical and then an energy launch. The task is to launch the first power unit fully into commercial operation in 2021 (in the first quarter at least)".

Siamashka does not say what caused the postponement of the BelNPP launch. Previously, it was expected that the first power unit would be launched in January 2020. Then it was allegedly moved to July, and the nuclear fuel was delivered to the plant in May. Back in early June, Lukashenka said that the Belarusian nuclear power plant would be launched "within a few days."
