Lukashenka Increased Excise Taxes On Motor Fuel By Four Times

It was decided to stimulate refining of customer-owned feedstock by changing excise duties on petrol and diesel fuel.

Lukashenka signed a decree № 84 "On excise taxes on motor fuel," BelTA informs.

The document is aimed to exclude unjustified import of motor fuel and increase the attractiveness of oil processing at domestic enterprises under the give-and-take scheme.

The decree raises excise rates on petrol and diesel fuel by four times from March 1, 2020. At the same time, in order to prevent the growth of retail prices, it has been established that for certain payers the coefficient of 0.25 is applied to the rates of excise duties. These rates cover the Belarusian oil refineries.
