WHO Declared World Coronavirus Pandemic

The Director General of WHO made a statement.

The spread of the new coronavirus around the world has become a pandemic, World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a briefing in Geneva.

"In the coming days and weeks we expect the number of cases, deaths and affected countries to increase ... We have come to the assessment that COVID19 can be described as a pandemic," - he said.

The pandemic is referred to as an unusually strong epidemic, characterized by the spread of the infectious disease throughout the country, the territory of neighboring states, and sometimes even many countries around the world.

As of March 11, the total number of new coronavirus infections in the world was 118,000 people in 114 countries.
