He was 84 years old.

In the morning of 9 December, the first Prime Minister of independent Belarus, Vyacheslav Kebich, died. He was 84 years old.

On 26 November, he contracted the coronavirus while in hospital. There is no information about the funeral yet.

Vyacheslav Kebich was born on 10 June 1936, the Volozhin Region.

He graduated from the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute. He worked as director of the Minsk Machine-Tool Plant named after Kirov, Second Secretary of the Minsk City Committee, and then the regional committee of the Communist Party of Belarus.

In 1985-1990, he served as Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR. From 1990 to 1994, he served as Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR and the independent Republic of Belarus.

He lost the presidential election in summer 1994. He resigned on July 21, 1994.
