Head of the Ministry of Health: Belarus Reached the Peak of Pneumonia, It Will Last at Least 1.5 Months

The head of the Ministry of Health made a forecast that the second wave will begin to subside only by summer.

On December 14, the Minister of Health of Belarus, Dzmitry Pinevich, made a statement on the epidemiological situation in the country. According to the head of the department, in all republic regions, the "inflow of people with pneumonia, especially those associated with covid" reached a peak, kp.by reports.

"Unfortunately, the figures are quite high, and we think that we will be at such figures for at least another month and a half," BelTA quotes Pinevich. At the same time, he said, these peaks could be even higher.

Despite the tense situation during the second wave of coronavirus, hospitals in Belarus did not stop providing specialized types of medical care. For example, traumatology and oncology work as before, while in the spring, the beds of oncological dispensaries had to be used to treat patients with COVID-19.

The head of the Ministry of Health made a forecast that the second wave will begin to subside only by summer, and, at least until June, the Belarusians will "live with high intensity." And then the strain will become seasonal.
