Famous Belarusian Banker Dies From COVID-19

Vasily Shved was Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Development Bank.

Vasily Shved, deputy chairman of the Development Bank's board, died at the age of 61. The Bank confirmed this information for tut.by.

The cause of death is complications caused by coronavirus infection.

Vasily Shved was born on 10 June 1960, in Lyntupy settlement, Pastavy district, Vitsebsk region. He graduated from Novosibirsk Higher Command Military and Political Combined Arms College, Military University, Belarusian State Economic University.

Upon completion of service in the Armed Forces in 1995, he became a leading expert of the regime and security service of the Joint-Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Belarus. Then he worked at the National Bank, the Bank of International Trade and Investment, and private company Solpol. In the period from 2005 to 2012, he was Deputy Chairman of the Board of Belagroprombank.

In February 2013, he responded to the proposal of Siarhei Rumas and became his deputy in the Development Bank. He supervised the activities of the Human Resources and Information Technology Departments, as well as branches of the Bank.
