European Belarus Activists Detained In Vitsebsk

Protocols have been drawn up against Ales Krutkin and Natallia Spirydonava.

On Monday, January 27, the police detained two activists of the European Belarus civil campaign. Ales Krutkin and Natallia Spirydonava were taken to the police department of Kastrychnitski district of Vitsebsk, where they were accused of posting leaflets, which had appeared in the city center earlier, the European Belarus telegram channel reports.

According to Natallia Spirydonava, protocols under Article 17.1 of the Administrative Code were drawn up against the detainees. After the protocol was drawn up in the Kastrychnitski district police department, the activist was taken to Pershamaiski district police department, where the second protocol under Article 23.14 of the Administrative Code was drawn up against her.

Natallia Spirydonava was released three hours later on her own recognizance because she has a disabled mother. After the protocol was drawn up, Ales Krutkin was sent to the temporary detention facility until the trial. The protocol on 17.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences was drawn up by the senior inspector of the Kastrychnitski district police department, police major Yury Vasilianok. The protocol under Article 17.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences was drawn up by Major Uladzimir Kazlouski, senior district police inspector.
