Unexpected Details About Detention Of Officials From Belavia Airplane Became Known

Has there been a malfunction in an important state chain?

Some details of the recent incident with the flight of Belavia, traveling from Minsk to Munich, have become known, the Nexta telegram channel reports.

And whatever some media say, they were not persons just bearing the same family name, but the officials themselves. And the turnaround occurred because of the usual Belarusian laxness and loose discipline.

The wait and three-hour delay were caused by a mistake of a KGB officer, who was in charge of Minsk National Airport. To be more precise, this very major-overseer was left holding the bag.

And all because of the malfunction in the well-adjusted, but, as it turned out, very fragile chain: Lukashenka > Vitsia > Vakulchyk (head of the KGB) > head of 9 Chief Directorate > head of the department > employee (senior detective on especially important cases). Everything happened due to the fault of Lukashenka Sr., who signed the decree, according to which some land plots of legal entities, located in Smaliavichy district (total area of 321.56 ha), including the airport, became part of Minsk. These territories were added to Kastrychnitski district. Accordingly, the overseers also changed. According to territoriality, representatives of Kastrychnitski district department of the KGB Department for Minsk and Minsk region became the overseers.

However, having little experience of cooperating with border guards, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the airport security service (just a few months of work together), the previously well-adjusted system failed. They had to turn the tables urgently and turn the board back, involving the employees of the Hrodna region KGB department.

It's not known why they decided to turn back the officials. According to our two sources, Lukashenka was aware of the trip, but during his visit to Shklou, for some reason, he suddenly "got into a rage" and ordered his son Viktar (who heads the special services of Belarus) to return the officials. It's also unclear whether the state men were fleeing the country, or whether it was just a trip. Since they would have clearly tried to fly from Moscow if they had decided to flee, the list of those banned from travel abroad is passed there only after a day or two.

According to unconfirmed official information, Piotr Rudnik, who served as chairman of the Mahiliou regional executive committee from December 2008 to December 2014, and Mikhail Kryshtapovich, who was a member of the "Council of the Republic", were taken off the B2 899 flight.
