‘Ploszcza’: Eizva Band Records Inspiring Song

The authors of the ‘Vejsznoria Anthem’ responded to the plans for the ‘integration’ of Belarus and the Russian Federation.

Eizva band recorded a new song ‘Ploszcza’, the Charter97.org correspondent from Minsk said. In an interview, the musicians told what this song was about and why it can inspire the ‘berserk warriors’ who are ready to defend Belarus.

- The Eizva band is widely known primarily as the authors of the ‘Vejsznoria Anthem’. Why ‘Ploszcza’ now?

- They say that in December, the so-called ‘in-depth integration’ with Russia is planned. There are many dissatisfied, mass protests are possible. What is called ‘Ploszcza’ in Belarus.

This track can inspire, it’s good to gather for a mass protest rally and go there, turning on this music in the headphones. In general, we noticed that among the “fighting” music there is a lot of crying, a lot of romance, but there is no such concrete music that can, let us say so, ‘zombify’ in a good way, like the ancient berserk warriors who went into battle. The very rhythm, and the attacking vibe in this track contributes to this.

In addition, it happened so that for the fourth year we have been coming up with a new track every year, at a specific time - at the autumn equinox. And we dedicate the release of each track to a specific holiday - the Baltic Unity Day, which is celebrated at the state level in Lithuania and Latvia, and in Belarus - at the level of enthusiasts who light bonfires on hills and hillforts every year on September 22, at 8 o’clock in the evening. We like this holiday, it inspires us.
