Flags With Pahonia And EU Symbols Run Up At Central Svetlahorsk Square

The city was protesting against the white cellulose plant.

European Belarus activists raised flags with Pahonia and EU symbols at a picket to collect signatures in Svetlahorsk, the press service of the company reports.

About 15 people participated in the traditional event. Among them - human rights activists, activists and residents of the city.

- We use the parliamentary campaign to draw attention to the main problem of the city - the plant of white cellulose, the waste of which affects tens of thousands of residents. This is what people talk about at all our pickets. The only way to achieve the closure of the plant is to increase pressure on the authorities. We will continue to do this, - Dzmitry Savich, a European Belarus activist, who takes part in the parliamentary campaign in the Svetlahorsk constituency № 46, said.

Pickets of European Belarus to collect signatures are held daily in Svetlahorsk. Yesterday, activists collected signatures near the Mehatop shop in the Yubileiny 2 microdistrict until 16.00. On September 23rd, a picket to collect signatures will be held near the Fix Price shop outside Central Square.
