Dzmitry Paliyenka’s Manifest

The political prisoner has declared his principled stance.

Political prisoner Dzmitry Paliyenka has passed a manifest to the outside, in which he officially declares his principled stance in relation to the nearing court proceeding which is to start at 10 a.m. on September 25 in the Minsk city court.

The Charter97.org publishes it for your attention:

“Due to the fact that the trial will be held in the totally closed regime, which makes it non-transparent and hidden from the public, I consider it a direct persecution, as I do not admit guilt in any of the episodes, and distrust the Belarusian judicial system.

I believe that the closeness of the trial, as well as the written obligation not to disclose the information related to the case materials, which they made my lawyer sign, and wanted to make me sign as well - this is a special repressive move to sentence me in the cases where everything is trumped up. The accusations against me are based on “words”, fantasies and assumptions, without evidence or proofs, to hide these facts from the public.

Under the Criminal and Procedural Code, it is impossible to hold a closed trial, there are no legal grounds for this!

In connection with the above, I am notifying you that I decided to boycott the trial in the direct sense of the word. This is a total boycott. I will be forced to take other measures until they make the trial open. My right to fair trial is violated and I don’t see any other way out.

They have already made the sentence. They only need to play the show now. I have nothing to lose.

As a sign of disagreement, I declare herewith a silent protest.

I hope for your understanding, my dears.”
