The court resumed the investigation in the case of beating Dzmitry Serada by the riot police officers.

The court of the Zavodzki district of Minsk continues to consider the claim of Dr. Dzmitry Serada against the law-enforcement officers. Three years ago, riot police burst into his apartment - they knocked out the doors, broke a window in the kitchen, frightened the man’s little daughter, and Dzmitry himself was beaten and taken to the police department. As it turned out later, this was a mistake. Jan Wierbicki followed the case, which has been suspended for years, Belsat reports.

“They burst into the house, and put the man “face on the floor” in the eyes of his child and pregnant wife.”

Human rights activists believe that in his speech on August 20, the head of the country had in mind precisely the situation of doctor Dzmitry Serada. Three years ago, riot police broke into his apartment, scared a three-year-old daughter, and beat him up. The reason for this was a mistaken suspicion of exhibitionism.

Pavel Sapelka, Human Rights Center “Viasna”:

“As a result, property in the apartment was damaged: entrance and balcony doors. Moral sufferings were caused to the doctor’s wife and child. They had to undergo treatment. The same as Serada himself. ”

For three years, Dzmitry was denied to initiate criminal proceedings against the riot police officers seven times - both in the Investigatory Committee and the General Prosecutor's Office. But suddenly an answer came from the Partyzanski district court of Minsk that the check in the case was resumed. Just after that meeting of Lukashenka with security officials, the human rights activist says. The mother of the injured doctor sees the connection with the speech of the head of the country.

Halina Serada, mother of Dzmitry Serada:

“They will put people faces in the mud for shoulder straps, as Lukashenka said. That's right - they will put everyone faces in the mud. So why be surprised? But I’ll tell you what it seems like if Lukashenka hadn’t come forward, and they would have hushed up this matter. ”

Nevertheless, senior detective Aliaksandr Nushchyk, who carried out the harsh detention of the pediatrician and now appears as a witness in court, still adheres to the old silence tactics.

“He could not answer almost all the questions. Although the head of the criminal investigation department of the Zavodzki police department tried to prompt him. The judge, of course, stopped him. He said that he would send him off the hearing if any more prompts were heard,” says Dzmitry Serada, the plaintiff.

Today's hearing is an attempt to obtain material compensation for the damage to property. This is more than 2 thousand rubles. And this is without the official fee and legal services: Dzmitry Serada also wants to return them through the court. They managed to pre-pay them thanks to crowdfunding:

“I promised to return this money to those who sponsored me, supported me on the site molamola.by.”

Another of Dzmitry Serada’s demands is that the riot police officers who beat him must apologize. Senior detective Aliaksandrr Nushchyk at today's hearing said that he acted within the law and does not plan to apologize. Serada hopes that he will change his mind when he moves from the witness bench to the bench of the accused. The court will announce the decision tomorrow.
