Goals Of BNC: Power Change, NPP Closure, Decent Labor In Belarus

The Belarusian National Congress has voiced its priorities.

They are listed in the statement of the BNC Rada, adopted in Minsk on August 3. The press-center of the Belarusian National Congress publishes the full text of the statement:

Defend independence, well-being and freedom!

The near future is crucial for our country. The regime is negotiating the surrender of the independence of Belarus. The information was repeatedly heard that the dictator was planning to hold a referendum at the same time as the “parliamentary elections”, which could result in the extension of his powers, amending the Constitution or the total loss of sovereignty.

Together with the political crisis, the economic crisis is exacerbating. Salaries and pensions of most citizens of the country are not enough to ensure a normal life. Even today, hundreds of thousands of our compatriots are forced to go abroad in search of work in order to support their families.

Political and economic problems have led to the possibility of environmental catastrophe. The nuclear power plant in Astravets is scheduled for launch this year. Its construction was accompanied by numerous violations and accidents, and the authorities hid the information about them from people. The Astravets adventure poses a direct threat to the existence of the nation, which is still suffering from the consequences of the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

The Belarusian National Congress uses the “parliamentary campaign” to achieve its goals. We demand:

- free elections and change of power at all levels;

- decent work for a decent income for Belarusians in their homeland;

- cancellation of the decision on the launch of the NPP and its closure.

We will protect our freedom and independence. By street protests and other available methods. We have a real plan for achieving our goals in the near future. We will liberate the country and build a new successful Belarus together.
