Another Discrepancy Found In MIA' Attempt To Gloss Over Beating Of Hrodna Resident

The riot police were present at the auto festival when Dzianis Lukjanau was detained.

Today, the press service of the Interior Ministry said that the riot police had nothing to do with the beating of 36-year-old Dzianis Lukjanau. The police claim that the riot police officers of the Interior Department of Hrodna Region Executive Committee had nothing to do with the man's delivery to the police department, as they arrived at the auto festival at 19:30.

However, NEXTA blogger wears down the statement of the MIA press service in his Telegram-channel.

"There are those very riot policemen of the Interior Department of Hrodna Region Executive Committee, who, according to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, were "not present" at the SunDay Auto Festival near Hrodna until 19:30 on the unfortunate day of July 20, when local resident Dzianis Lukjanau was brutally beaten there.

According to EXIF data, the photos were taken at 18:13. And the first wagons with the riot police, as several eyewitnesses told us, entered the festival site between 16:00 and 17:00. Not only did they enter, but also got into Instagram of several visitors.

Another lie is that none of the journalists have allegedly asked the law enforcers for comments. In particular, our colleagues from the Euroradio editorial office called the press service of Hrodna Regional Department of Internal Affairs on August 23 and received a predictable answer that they "cannot be helped by anything".

We remind that on July 20, the SunDay automobile festival took place near the village of Karolina near Hrodna. Dzianis Lukjanau, 36, was resting there with his friends, they were drinking together. When they were about to leave, Dzianis said goodbye to the company, ready to go home, where his wife and three small children were waiting for him. Several dozen policemen were on patrol in the festival territory, including riot police officers. According to Dzianis' relatives, they saw him being in a sozzled state, took his arms and headed to the forest. "In the forest, the law enforcers started to beat him up at once. As he said later, they were mastering techniques on him. They were beating him on the buttocks, hips and legs with rubber truncheons. Then they took his arms, brought him to the policecar and took him to the police station to draw up a report," - his cousin Darja said.

A few days later, the Hrodna resident was hospitalized and taken to the intensive care unit with a diagnosis of muscle necrosis and blood poisoning. Dzianis has already undergone 6 surgeries, a part of his buttock has been amputated.
