Ales Charkashyn To Be Commemorated In Brest Region

August 28 marks four years since Ales Charkashyn is not with us.

The memory of Ales Charkashyn will be honored at the cemetery in Kamianitsa-Zhyravetskaya, near Brest. This was stated by his friend and associate, Belarusian politician Pavel Seviarynets in his Facebook-account:

- Four years ago, Ales Charkashyn, a musician, believer and former head of Brest branch of the BCD party, left us. He went to defend our freedom and your freedom in Ukraine, went as a nurse and chaplain. And got under mortar fire. He died of his wounds. And every year since then we have been meeting at the burial site, where a monument to him is erected. This is Kamianitsa-Zhyravetskaya, three kilometers from Brest. The monument was erected by the people and money was collected from all over Belarus, even outside Belarus. Once a year, parents, friends and believers come to the monument.

Ales Charkashyn is a participant of the war in the east of Ukraine as a member of the "Voluntary Ukrainian Corps". He had a call sign "Taras". He died in a hospital in Zaporizhzhya on August 28, 2015. Posthumously awarded the non-governmental order "People's Hero of Ukraine". This commemorative event near Brest in memory of Ales Charkashyn will be held on the day of his death, August 28, at the cemetery Kamianitsa-Zhyravetskaya. The beginning is at 18:30. "Those who have transfer problems, please contact me through social networks", - Pavel Seviarynets added.
