The Ministry of Defense has been buying fireworks for holiday fireworks without tenders for 11 years. The press secretary of the main department of ideological work of the Ministry of Defense, Vladimir Makarov, confirmed this information to Office Life, according to euroradio.by.

Earlier, the Russian company Piro-Ross stated that the Belarusian side was buying fireworks from them "by verbal friendly agreement.

According to the Ministry of Defense, there is a resolution of the Council of Ministers of August 22, 2012 № 778, which specifies the characteristics of public procurement. According to the document, such products are subject to purchase from a single source (without a tender). The reason: Piro-Ross is called the only organization that produces fireworks suitable for the Belarusian army salute installations.

In the evening of July 3, during the fireworks salute on Independence Day, the fireworks exploded. Fragments from them were scattered in different directions and hit the crowd. One woman died and 9 more people were injured.

A criminal case has been opened in which two suspects have been detained.
