EU: Pavel Grib, Abducted In Belarus, Must Be Released Immediately
PAVEL GRIB

The European Union reacted to the new sentence against the Ukrainian political prisoner.

The European Union reacted to the fact that the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized the "legality" of the sentence against Ukrainian political prisoner Pavel Grib, who was kidnapped by the Russian security services in Belarus and illegally sentenced to six years in prison for allegedly calling for terrorism, censor.net.ua reported.

"Pavel Grib was sentenced without any reasonable charges and must be immediately released. Since he suffers from a serious illness, he must get access to specialized medical care as soon as possible," - the statement said.

We remind that on March 22, 2019, the North Caucasus District Military Court of the Russian Federation passed a guilty verdict against Pavel Grib, sentencing him to six years in a penal colony. In his last speech, the convicted person said, in particular, that he would not recognize the accusations of the FSB of the Russian Federation in assisting in terrorist activities.

On July 23, the military panel of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation declared the verdict of the North Caucasus District Military Court against Ukrainian political prisoner Pavel Grib to be "lawful".

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry calls on the international community to condemn the illegal decision of the Russian court against the citizen of Ukraine Pavel Grib and demand the unconditional release of all Ukrainian citizens held as hostages by the Kremlin regime in Russia and occupied Crimea.
