Kurapaty Defenders Fined $628

One of the activists was fined for defending 15-year-old Ilaryon Trusau.

Today, July 15, the court of Minsk district tried the Kurapaty defenders, Ryhor Asaul and Dzianis Urbanovich, who were detained last weekend, Novy Chas writes.

On July 13th , the leader of the Young Front Denis Urbanovich was detained during the watch near the restaurant "Let's eat". The next day, July 14, police detained 15-year-old Ilaryon Trusau and Ryhor Asaul, who tried to protect the activist from detention.

The underage Ilaryon Trusau was released in the evening, but a report was drawn up on him for "petty hooliganism" (Article 17.1 of the Administrative Code). Probably, the case of Trusau will be considered by the administrative commission.

Ryhor Asaul, who stood up for Ilaryon, was accused under Article 23.4 (disobedience to the request of an official) and Article 17.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences (petty hooliganism). The activist spent the night in detention.

The court found Ryhor Asaul guilty under these two articles and punished him with a fine of 20 basic units - Br510.

Dzianis Urbanovich was also sentenced to a fine of 30 basic units (Br765) under Article 17.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences (petty hooliganism).
