"Total Absurdness": Traffic Police Reacted To Lukashenka's Traffic Violation

The traffic police responded to a complaint from a Homel resident about Lukashenka's violation of the traffic rules in Balbasava.

The traffic police replied to Homel resident Pavel, who asked for a legal assessment of the actions of the Belarusian leader during his trip to Vitsebsk in early June, abw.by writes.

As previously reported, in early June, Aliaksandr Lukashenka, accompanied by his youngest son, and several other people took a bicycle ride through Vorsha district. In the village of Balbasava, the dictator walked along the roadway with a bicycle, not on the sidewalk. The same was done by Lukashenka's escort.

Homel citizen Pavel assessed it as a violation of traffic rules and called the traffic police of Homel. There, his request was accepted, and on 20 June the man received an official reply by mail.

It reported that the traffic police had inspected this case. Then there comes a mysterious phrase: "As a result of the inspection the decision was made in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Belarus." If the recipient of the answer does not agree, he is offered to appeal to the Interior Ministry.

- I have been addressing the authorities many times, and I have never received such a response," – Pavel said. - There were cases in my practice when I requested the traffic police to deal with especially insolent parking violators. I received normal motivated answers, however, the data of the violator was not indicated, but there was always information under which article he was brought to justice. And here - a total darkness. In the manner of: "Did you check it? - We did it! - And what is the result? - "Everything is fine. We work."

Pavel considers the last paragraph to be absurd: "What and how can I appeal against if I don't know the result of the check-up?! And in general, I do not rule out that in this situation there was inaction of an official (or persons) during the inspection."
