Statkevich Retaliates Against Putin

Russians, let's not change our attitude to you.

Leader of the Belarusian National Congress Mikalai Statkevich replied to the latest words of the Kremlin about Belarus:

- Recently, Russian President commented on the Belarusian-Russian relations. "I am deeply convinced that we belong to one nation. But it happened that we live in different countries. Different states appeared... Today, there are no grounds for state unification. We have no such plans, no goals. We have a plan to build a so-called union state. I believe that our people are interested in it."

"One nation" means that, in Putin's opinion, Belarusians do not exist as a nation. That they are a part of the Russian nation, which, because of the "existing" circumstances, turned out to be out of Russia and accidentally formed a separate state. It turns out that the leader of the country, our closest ally, publicly stated that the Belarusian nation does not exist.

The conclusion is delivered. It means a takeover of Belarus by Russia using the plan of "creation of the so-called union state". According to this plan, it should have a common president, government, parliament, army, law enforcement agencies, currency and borders. That is, to become a single state.

Given a huge difference in population, geographical size, economy and population, as well as the conclusion delivered above about "one nation", it is obvious that an equitable unification of the two peoples is impossible. In fact, the President of Russia openly declared his intention to gradually take over Belarus.

To be fair, it should be acknowledged that Lukashenka's longstanding treacherous policy has led to this. For the sake of Moscow subsidies, Lukashenka has deliberately pursued an anti-state policy for more than 20 years in order to retain his power. He still has to face the music.

Of course, Belarusians are not "interested" in the loss of independence of their country. They will not agree with the denial of the right to existence of their nation either. Many of us are proud of our ancient and glorious history, our unique and beautiful language, our beautiful country. We will fight for Belarus. We will use every available means.

But I am sure that ordinary Russians are not "interested" in turning the most friendly people and country into hostile territory. They will have to spend huge amounts to support it and soldiers living there. After all, the example of Ukraine's transformation is right before their eyes.

Dear Russian neighbours! We are brotherly, friendly people with our own ancient history, unique culture and our beloved country. We are ready to stand for it all. Let our good attitude to you remain unchanged.

And if your local vassal promised something to your leadership at your expense, then let him face the music. I guess a significant part of this money can still be returned from his foreign accounts.
