Head Of Department Of District Hospital In Minsk Region Detained For Selling Sick Leaves

The head of the surgical department of the hospital was detained in one of the district centers of Minsk region. According to the investigation, he prescribed fictitious sick leaves for money, tut.by writes.

"We received an operative information that it was possible to get a real sick leave with all the necessary requisites illegally for a reasonable fee in one of the district centers of Minsk region," - the head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk Region Executive Committee Uladzimir Yameliyanau said.

During the inspection, this was confirmed, the head of the surgical department of the district hospital turned out to be the defendant. Sometimes a nurse of the same hospital was an intermediary with those who wanted to stay away from work for a week or two, the investigation states.

The doctor was caught red-handed in the morning, June 19, when he received money through a nurse from the driver of a transport company for issuing a sick leave.

A criminal case was initiated against the doctor under Part 1 of Article 430 of the Criminal Code (Bribery). He is suspected of having committed tens of such crimes.
