NEXTA Blogger: High-Ranking Mahiliou Police Chief Flees From Country

The famous Belarusian blogger NEXTA reported in his Telegram channel, that a high-ranking police chief apparently fled from the country about a week ago, mogilev.online writes.

According to the blogger, Siarhei Maksimau, the Head of the Medical Services of the Finance and Home Affairs Department of the Mahiliou Regional Executive Committee, did not appear at work. His dismissal report, ID and keys to the office were found in his office.

To date, it is assumed that Maksimau flew either to the United States or to Israel through Lithuania. Information about him has already been removed from the official website of the organization, but it is still can be found in the cache of search engines. Aleh Katliarenka is now acting at his post.

Prior to his appointment as the Head of the Medical Services of the Mahiliou police, Maksimau was in charge of the same service within the KGB.

According to the blogger, Siarhei Maksimau was friends with the “deputy of the national assembly” Aliaksandr Staravoitau and was married to the daughter of an owner of a large Mahiliou construction company. In addition, the former head of the medical service is a “deputy” himself – of the Mahiliou city council of 28 convocation in Orel electoral district № 11 (information about this is still on the site).
