There's Channel On YouTube Where Belarusians Demand From Lukashenka To Resign

Hundreds of messages have appeared on the channel in a short time.

Youtube channel "Lukashenka, Don't Run For Office, Rest" appeared a week ago, today it contains more than 370 videos.

People are recording their video messages at home, in cars, at work and even against the background of the government's official cars near the Government House. Among those who spoke out are doctors, teachers, factory workers, residents of Minsk and the regions, schoolchildren and pensioners, the-village.me reports.

Most people use the video to say a standard text: they say their name and surname, their citizenship or place of residence and say the phrase "I am against Aliaksandr Lukashenka's running for president in 2020". Some of them also state they are against integration with Russia.

The channel has been created in response to Lukashenka's words during the "parliamentary elections":

- If people don't support me in some elections, I won't be offended by them. I have already worked for a decent number of years. You think about whether or not I should run for office in these "elections"... I will propose my candidacy in these "elections". But if I feel that you are categorically against me, of course, I will be disappointed, but nevertheless, you must reject my candidacy at the "elections". And I promised that I wouldn't hold my chair with blue fingers.

"This channel has been created and is used exclusively to provide Belarusians with an opportunity to exercise their right to freedom of opinion, belief and expression, guaranteed by Article 33 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus," its founders say.
